Kia Ora, my name is Marareia Hamilton and I am of Ngāti Manu, Ngāti Kahungungu and Ngāti Raukawa descent. My background is within the education, tourism and business development space.

I am the Managing Director of Hawaiki Tours a Maori tourism company which markets Maori tourism experiences to Asia. I am also the Project Director for the Hawaiki Project a social initiative connecting indigenous tribes globally through cultural exchanges for tamariki.

I am currently working towards a PhD in business with a focus on Indigenous Tourism. I hold a Master of Business with First Class Honors and was awarded top overall graduate of the business faculty within the University. My research focus has been in eco-tourism, indigenous tourism and consumer behaviour. 

I am part of the Te Korau CO.STARTERS team which works with Maori small to medium enterprises in developing and strengthening their business ideas/operations within regions and helped co-design the contextualised Maori version.  

I also teach marketing, advertising, sales and retail to third year undergraduate students at the Auckland University of Technology.

My previous work experience was with the Ministry for Primary Industries within the Maori programs and partnerships which helped assist Maori Trusts to develop their collective land assets to gain economic benefits.

Kia Ora, my name is Sabrina Nagel and I am originally from Germany. I am passionate about education, entrepreneurship and sustainability and I want to have an impact with the work I do, making a difference to society. I have been working in the startup space for 10 years 

In my current role at AUT, I have been working on a number of initiatives ranging from the future of education to setting up a strong support structure encouraging students to start their own businesses. I am an experienced CO.STARTERS facilitator and trainer and have completed a three-month coaching programme where I learned scientifically evidenced strategies that allow entrepreneurs to scale themselves while scaling their company.

Apart from being an 'Intrapreneur', I have also explored a range of hobby Startups before starting a future-focused primary school called Ako (www.akospace.com) in Feb 2018.

Genie is the Business Growth Co-ordinator for The Orchard Business and Events Hub, Northland Inc’s co-working and incubation space.

Genie connects businesses to the right people and resources they need to strengthen and grow, supporting community of enterprises in The Orchard. With a background in social science, she’s passionate about integrating the social with the economic in the journey to a thriving Northland.
