‘When I think back to Te Kōrau wānanga what I’d imagined was not what I received. It exceeded it. I was blown away by the quality of content and the end result. The main points were: I expected to enhance my current business but what I received was a whole new business idea and everyone’s help in bringing it  into reality. When I initially thought of the idea, it was a vague thought and something that crossed my mind every now and then. By the end of the programme, it was so clear in my mind, I literally couldn’t wait to burst out of the doors and bring it to life. My peers also had future customers to fit my target market. I loved how my peers were experts in their own field, from marketing, to design and videography, and we could learn from one another.

Having people with like-minded whakaaro and wairua Maori was the best. Matua Arapeta Hamilton spoke on tikanga and Maori history. This cemented a mission that I HAD to make a reality. Since then, I have hosted one group with many others wanting to network and join in. Initially, I had doubts as to how good or boring the programme would be, but I had faith in AUT to put their name against a programme they knew was of top quality. Plus our facilitators were lecturers at university, so they were capable and exceeded my expectations. The guest speakers were so good and you could ask any question without feeling stupid. They were experts in their field and were amazing!”
